Where the Love of Pasta Making Began

It all started when…

I had the opportunity to travel around Europe in the summer of 2018. I always dreamed that if I ever had the chance to go to Italy, I would go alone, have my own little “Eat Pray Love” adventure, and take up an authentic Italian cooking class, learning how to make pasta from scratch.

Well, as fate has it, the opportunity arose and I wound up traveling to Florence, Italy (solo) for a few days and knew exactly what was going to be on my agenda! Through my research, I found the most amazing pasta making class offered in the hills of Tuscany! (Is there anything more dreamier sounding than that?) I took the class with 10 strangers, who turned into friends, and was trained first hand by these amazingly skillful, and funny, Italian men!

I was so fascinated with this class and the skills I learned that I was determined to come home and start making my own pasta from scratch! That Christmas, I received the best gifts ever, the exact tools that were used in my cooking class in Italy!

From Christmas Day on, all I could think about doing was making pasta with my new tools and machine. I made dough after dough and began shaping all different types of pasta each week, getting more and more practice and mastering my techniques. One night I was teaching my family how to make pasta and realized how much fun I was having teaching them the skills I’ve acquired. Seeing them laughing and smiling and seeing how proud they were of what they were making just gave me this happy, rewarding feeling! From that moment, I knew I wanted to do this! I wanted others to feel the joy and pride that I felt when I made pasta from scratch for the very first time in the hills of Tuscany.

To this day, my Italian pasta making experience has been one of the all time greatest of my life and I hope that in doing these pasta making classes I can spread the love, joy, and pride of pasta making to each and every one of you!
